Recommended Tow Bar Base Plate Kit For 2021 GMC Canyon AT4

Hi, I am looking for baseplates, tow bars, etc to fit a 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 pickup. What are your recommendations? Is Base plate 523208-5 compatible with the Nighthawk 676 tow bar? Thanks

I reached out to my contact at Roadmaster and she confirmed that the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM37VR you were looking at will work on just fine your 2021 GMC Canyon AT4.

The Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights # RM-676 you mentioned will work perfectly with the Roadmaster # RM37VR, and the safety cables that your Nighthawk came with will also still work.

To complete your flat-tow setup you will need wiring, and a supplemental system.

For wiring I recommend the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-1676-7 due to the included diodes which will protect your vehicle's wiring from damage and feedback.

For a supplemental braking system I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR due to its easy install, and reinstallation. The Patriot # BLU37TR applies the brakes to your towed vehicle with the same intensity that you apply the brakes in your motorhome.

Lastly you will more than likely need a high-low adapter to level your tow bar to your motorhome, so I have included a helpful article that will walk you through how to measure for the correct adapter, and a link to all of our high-low adapters for you to take a look at.

It is always a good idea to check the flat towing section of your vehicle's owners manual for any restrictions or special instructions required to get your vehicle ready to be flat towed.
