When it comes to affordability, my absolute favorite is the Swagman XC 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64650. It's a great way to get the ease of use and stability of a platform rack at a great price. This rack is very popular because of its simple design among cyclists that don't want to pay for fancy features that they don't want or need. It doesn't lock, so I recommend picking up the separate Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable Set # S64031. If you have fat tires, you can upgrade with # S64674.
Another budget-friendly bike rack is Hollywood Racks Destination 2 # HLY94FR. This one is nice because it's small, light, and has rotating clamps that work with a variety of frames. It has a hitch pin lock but no cable lock, so you'll need to pick one up like # e98891 if you don't already have one. This bike rack can be folded up when not in use. I attached my video review of both bike racks at the bottom of the page if you want to see them in action on a truck.
Both bike racks are great, but if I had to choose, I prefer the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 # HLY94FR.They both have a simple design, but I think the Destination is a little more sporty looking, but that's just me. Also, the fold-up feature is nice if you're concerned about clearance in the back.
