Best Small Roof Basket With Least Wind Noise for 2020 Porsche Macan

Want to purchase a roof basket for a 2020 Macan fitted with factory OEM cross bars. I want small size and one with least amount of wind noise when doing highway driving.

The first product that came to mind is the etrailer Medium Roof Cargo Basket # e98914 mainly for aesthetic reasons. The 2020 Porsche Macan has this gorgeous curve design and the etrailer Roof Basket with its curved side rails is the first thing I thought of.

When it comes to actual specs though, this basket is also a good option. It has a rather effective wind fairing in front to cut down the wind noise and at 56" long x 35" wide, it's among your smaller roof baskets. The mounting hardware is designed to be universal so it will fit your factory crossbars, but it also means the mounting process is kind of confusing at first. I recommend watching my video review attached below where I explain what I found was the best way to install it.

Another recommendation is the Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket # Y07138. This is another small basket with a wind fairing. This one has more premium features like accessory bars and a quick mounting/dismounting system. You can also get lock cores # Y07204 for the mounting system if you want to lock your roof basket.

Both are great roof baskets and I think are the best choices when it comes to small size AND reduced wind noise. If I had to choose though, I would still pick the etrailer option # e98914 since it's the best bang for your buck. It has style and function at a great price. However, if you plan to be removing/attaching the roof basket very often, then pick the Yakima OffGrid # Y07138.
