How To Transport 3 Bikes On A 2016 Toyota Prius
Question:
I am interested in getting a trailer hitch bike rack for a 2016 Toyota Prius. I need a three bike capacity. My Toyota dealer tells me the only trailer hitch they can get me is a 1 and 1/4 inch receiver so it would need to fit that. Can you send me what you have as options? Thank you!

The 3 bike racks that are 1 1/4" will work for you 2016 Toyota Prius, however, you may only mount 2 bikes on this rack at a time. The manufacturer states there should only be 2 bikes on the rack when paired with a Class 1 receiver hitch (which is the only class I am showing available for your 2016 Prius).
If you still wish to use a hitch mounted bike rack, I recommend the SportRack Pathway Deluxe 3 Bike Rack # SR2703. Just remember that you can only mount 2 bikes on this rack at a time due to the class 1 hitch.
If you decide to go the route of purchasing a hitch, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11473 is an excellent and affordable choice. It is easy to install and requires no welding/drilling. I am attaching a video link of the install process.
In order to safely secure 3 bikes to your 2016 Toyota Prius, I recommend looking into the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount # Y02633. This is a trunk mounted bike rack that will safely hold your 3 bikes, and you will not need to worry about installing a receiver hitch with this product.
The Yakima FullBack is easy to use and install, and folds up when it is not in use. Locks are included to keep your belongings safe and secured. I will attach a video link demonstrating how to use it.
