Recommended Sumo Springs for 2017 Toyota Tacoma with Truck Topper and Towing 4000-lbs Trailer

Question:

Will be towing a 20 ft TT, gross weight 4K approx tongue weight will be right at 500 lbs. I have a camper shell also. Other than that I rarely drive with any loads. I don’t mind a stiffer ride I always felt the Tacoma ride is too soft. They bottom the stops on speed bumps. Oh and I have a WDTH and brake controller for the trailer. Thank you!

Expert Reply:

With the tongue weight of the trailer and the weight of the topper, the Sumo Springs # SSR-612-47 with a 1000-lbs capacity are the right choice since Sumo Springs are progressively load bearing; this means that they get stiffer as more weight is applied and really do a great job of not affecting the unloaded ride quality. The Sumo Springs are a great solution that install without any drilling required, and they'll replace your factory bumpstops, so now when you bottom out you're going to get a little less harsh reaction.

I've linked a review video of these for you to check out, but I definitely think you go with the heavier duty Sumo Springs.
