Yes, the # KH11812 is a custom fit for the engine block of your 2014 Hyundai Sonata 2.0L I4 Turbo.
It installs into the cavity of the engine block, using the supplied clip on the top outside part of the cartridge. The extended end of the cartridge that contains the heating element submerges into the coolant to keep your engine fluids from thickening.
There is no need to remove the core frost plug. The power cord on the heater is removable so that you won't need to buy a whole new heater if the cord gets damaged. The cord can be routed through your grille for easy access to a 120-volt outlet or extension cord. Do make sure the heating element is fully submerged in the coolant before plugging it in.
You might also consider the # KH28405 to protect the plug on the power cord when not in use.
