Replacement 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" Braking Assemblies for 10K Axle

Question:

I am working on a trailer with tandems. Has 12 1/4 x 3 3/8 shoes on it. The drums are 12 1/4 x 4 I was looking on your website and noticed item number 10257-59 looks like the ones on my trailer, noticeable by the 2 nuts at the top. The issue im having is the measurements are 12 1/4 x 3 1/2. This trailer has been worked on by a shop with bad reputation and I was wondering if the put a thinner shoe the save them money. Any advice would be great. Im looking at doing all for brakes. It is a 10,000 lb axle trailer

The Dexter 10K axles use 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" braking assemblies whereas the ALKO 10K axes use 12-1/4" x 3-1/2" braking assemblies. Therefore, it sounds like you have Dexter axles and need to use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-10. I really wouldn't pay too much attention to the visuals differences of the assemblies because if the measurements match they will fit.
