I am wondering if in the bearing replacement process if some grease got in the drum or on the brake parts or if something was damaged on that side that affects the braking mechanism. If a return spring is broken or missing then the brakes will not return to their original position after braking.

It is also possible that there is a problem with the wiring or magnets on that side. If there is a short to the magnets or ground problem then that could be causing the problem. Make sure the ground wires are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces and that the power wires do not have exposed wires that are touching metal.

To test the magnets I have included a link to an FAQ article that will guide you through the process.
