Rear Suspension Enhancement For A 2019 Toyota Tacoma Sport

Question:

Im looking at rear suspension enhancements from SumoSprings ssr-612-47 and Timbren ttortun4 and have a question on max weights listed on various products ranging from 1,000 to 14,000 lbs. I drive a 2019 tacoma sport dbl cab, long bed and tow a travel trailer 8,500# a few times a year. Can you reccomend something?

For rear suspension enhancement on your 2019 Toyota Tacoma I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle Item # SSR-612-47. These spring are a light duty jounce style spring to help reduce the feeling of the vehicle bottoming out when weight is added. Keep in mind adding these does not increase the weigh carrying capacity of the vehicle. It is also recommended when hauling a travel trailer to use a weight distribution system. I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW Item # EQ37120ET.

Adding weight distribution allows the tongue weight of the trailer to be transferred to the axles on the trailer so the back of the truck can be raised back up to normal ride height. When the back of the vehicle is down due to excessive weight, this causes the front of the vehicle to raise. The headlights aim up and not at the road, the tires turn in and wear uneven, your steering is light, and your braking is effected. This is creates unsafe driving conditions not only for yourself but for other on the road.
