Trunk Bike Rack for 2018 BMW 5 Series Sedan

Question:

Hello, I have a question about the trunk mount bike racks that will fit my 2018 BMW 5 Series sedan. I looked on the Saris site and it tells me that the Bones 2 does not fit my car, but on your site you show it as a certified fit. Can you tell me why Saris is not showing the Bones 2 as fitting my vehicle when you show it does? Thank you for your help.

When using any website Fit Guide, there may be more options to choose from to get the correct fit for your vehicle. Our website shows that you can either select Wagon or Sedan even after you have put in the Year, Make, and Model. If a Vehicle Style is not selected, its shows the Confirmed Fit for your vehicle, and slightly below states "Wagon". Saris has confirmed that the Bones 2 will not fit with the BMW 5 Series Sedan from 2018 and newer since there is not enough space for the rubber feet to mount on the bumper with the updated change from BMW in the trunk lid shape and bumper at that mounting point. You are not out of luck though for a trunk mounted bike rack.

An excellent option with rave reviews is the Thule Passage 2 Bike, Part # TH910XT. As you can see this trunk mounted bike rack provides a padded tube crossbar for the contact point on the top of the rear bumper and bottom of trunk lid. This is a Confirmed Fit with your 2018 BMW 5 Series Sedan.
