Where Should Snow Tire Chains be Placed on a 2008 Honda CR-V

Question:

do i need snow chains on all four tires of a 2wd, front wheel drive 2008 honda crv? going to yosemite national park and was advised snow chains are required to be carried though not necessarily installed, depending on road conditions at the time.

Chains should be placed on the main drive wheels of a vehicle but can be put on all 4 if you wanted to. On a front wheel drive vehicle they would need to go on the front. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for information on the use of chains with the vehicle.

For a 2008 Honda CR-V I show the tire size as 225/65-17. I have included a link to the chains recommended for the 2008 Honda CR-V with this tire size.

If you have a different tire size you can use the chain fit guide, linked, to see the available chain options. I have included a link to some tire chain FAQ articles as well.
