Can Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring be Used along with a T-One Harness on a 2010 Chevy Malibu

Question:

I recently purchased a tow hitch and wiring kit for my 2010 Malibu from your company. I also use this vehicle as a Tow Vehicle for our motorhome. I am interested in purchasing the Tow Daddy Tail Light kit which you sell, but am wondering if it will be in conflict with the wiring kit I use for towing a trailer?

The Hopkins # HM56106 and the # 118450 can indeed be used together without conflict, but the only problem you might have is the limited amount of space available between the back of the tail light and the vehicle body. Some of your connections might need to be pushed through the grommet into the trunk interior in order to get the tail light assembly put back into place. The Hopkins flat towing wiring harness should be plugged into the rear of the taillight assembly, the # 118450 connected next and then the # 118450 is plugged into the factory wiring harness.

You cannot use the trailer 4-pole while flat towing. Using an accessory like a lighted hitch cover plugged into the 4-pole at the rear while flat towing could draw too much power through the system and cause damage.
