Recommended Replacement for Factory Brake Controller On 2015 Ram 2500
Question:
I have a 2015 Ram 2500 and I have the known brake controller issue that dodge cannot seem to solve. I need an aftermarket brake controller to replace this. I have a 14’ utility trailer that weights 1500 and has a 5500 pound payload 7k total. What do I need and/or what do you recommend?

I have some great options to replace the factory brake controller on a 2015 Ram 2500. If you want to opt for a wired plug-in type, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller part # RED24FR as there are few others that can compare at this price. It will be mostly hidden just like the factory brake controller but outperforms it 10-1. It would also require the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers part # 331-TPH-020. Once you unplug the factory brake controller you could get a light on the dash. The controller will still work but if you want this gone you'd need to take the truck to the dealer to have them disable the factory brake controller.
If you don't want to have to mess with taking the truck to the dealer you could use the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 which will bypass the factory brake controller.
