Determining Best Axle For Boat Trailer To Replace Older Axle Using LM11949 Hub Bearings

Need to see if you have a 5 on 4 1/2 hub assembly. Its a 3/4 straight spindle on a boat trailer. 8 inch rim. Bearing size is Lm11949

I have a replacement option but unfortunately we do not have any hub's that use # L11949 as the inner and outer bearing. The # L11949 bearing is typically found on agricultural axles with # LM67048 as the outer bearing.

I recommend replacing your current axle with to one that uses more readily available parts to make it easier when you need replacement parts now and in the future.

To determine the correct replacement axle you will want to measure your current axle from hub face to hub face, and spring center to spring center as shown in the included diagram. The hub face measurement is the most important as spring seats can be removed and re welded if needed.

For example the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs # 35545I-EZ-89 has a hub face measurement of 89" and spring center measurement of 74" and includes a 5 on 4-1/2 Hub, # L68149 inner bearing, # L44649 outer bearing, races, grease seals, wheel studs and lug nuts.
