What is Difference Between Tuson DirecLink Base and Lite Brake Controller Models and how to Pick

Question:

Im trying to decide between the Tucson lite brake controller and the base model. From QandAs I understand that the base has a low speed adjustments. What I dont understand is if that low speed adjustment is relevant as I have never heard of that option for any other regular proportional units with an accelerometer. Is that a feature in other devices? Is it useful or needed?

The Tuson DirecLink Base Model Trailer Brake Controller part # 335DL-100 and Tuson DirecLink Lite Trailer Brake Controller part # 335DL-50 are both great brake controller options.

The best option for you will be dependent on where you will be doing most of your driving. If you find yourself frequently traveling though town in stop and go traffic then the base model which has the low speed brake adjustment feature would be a really good option but not necessarily required. If you are driving in stop and go traffic without the low speed brake adjustment then odds are the trailer is going to be jerky more of like a push/pull feeling which can also wear out the brakes faster. If you find yourself mainly on the highway in open road then the low speed brake adjustment feature would not be utilized as much so you can save some cash and go with the latter.

If you've used proportional brake controllers in the past and didn't have issues with low speed jerkiness then I'd say the base model would be a great option.
