Recommended Hitch for Bike Carrier to Use on 2004 Arctic Fox 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2004 Arctic Fox, 30 ft, 5th wheel RV. I would like to put a receiver hitch on it to carry my bike rack. Looking for a bolt on or weld on model. Recommendations?

In order to determine what hitch will fit on your 2004 Arctic Fox 5th wheel you'll need to have a look and determine what shape your trailer frame is, and determine what the distance is between the two side stanchions that you'd mount the hitch to; unfortunately there's not a database that tells us this information, so you'll want to measure to be sure.
Your best bet is likely going to be using the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703 which can be welded on or bolted and will fit on box, C-channel, or I-beam trailer frames, so it's a very flexible option. This hitch has a 2" hitch that can be used for carrying a bike rack and Curt hitches are our most popular solution since they have a durable powder coat that will help prolong the life of the hitch.
If you already have a bike rack, you'll want to make sure it is rated for use on the back of a 5th wheel trailer since there is significantly more side to side and north/south movement than at the rear of a passenger vehicle. If you don't have a rack rated for this use, the Swagman XP - 4 Bike Rack for 2" Trailer Hitches # S64940 is a great option that will allow you to carry up to 4 bikes. For bikes with aggressive step through frames or kids' bikes you'll need a bike frame adapter bar like the # 64005 to keep the bikes level.
I've linked some review videos of these parts, as well as an installation video of the hitch that you might find useful. I've also linked our entire selection of RV hitches that you can check out if you'd like to see what else is available; these are universal hitches that are available in different sizes so you can get a shorter one if need be to limit trimming that might be required during installation.
