Transmission Cooler for 2006 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
I tow approximately 5,300lbs once a month with my 2006 4.7 V8 4runner. It has the factory trans cooler. I monitor my temps and only really see temperatures rise in the summer time and on steep grades, the normal causes. Id like to add a larger cooler to replace the factory unit or should I add a smaller and keep the oem unit to be in series?

Ideally you'd run a second cooler after your factory cooler but based on your cooler being separate from the radiator and more or less similar to a supplemental cooler if I were you I'd replace it with something larger and more efficient like the Derale # D13502 that you referenced.
For max cooling you'd keep the factory cooler and install the # D13502 downstream of it.
