Which Base Rails Can I Use to Mount Husky 24k in 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Question:

A friend of mine gave me a used Husky 24k 5th wheel hitch and Im trying to determine what mounting rails and brackets I need. I have a 99 Ford F-350SD with an 8 bed. Currently theres a goose neck hitch mounted fixed ball but Im planning to remove it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

To mount your Husky 5th wheel hitch in your 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty you'll want to use a base rail kit like the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10 Bolt # RP30035, which is a confirmed fit for your truck and will give you a set of industry standard base rails for a 5th wheel hitch. This is a universal type installation kit that may require drilling into the frame, but you could also use a custom installation kit like the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP56005-53. This is custom designed for your truck and would limit any drilling required; it won't necessarily eliminate it, but it's definitely an easier process.
