Can Holes be Drilled in Trailer Tongue to Install Buyers Products 10k Trailer Coupler

Question:

Installation of 3370091560 coupler. Can I safely bolt this coupler on my tongue using the rearmost hole and drilling a second hole 3 inch forward to fit my tongue? The holes on my tongue are 3 inch apart now with a standard coupler. I need an additional 6 inch of total tongue length. I could even drill from top to bottom for a 3rd bolt is need be. Thanks.

Yes, you can absolutely drill holes in your trailer tongue to install the 10,000 lb capacity Buyers Products Straight Tongue Trailer Coupler # 3370091560.

This is a pretty common occurrence due to the various bolt hole patterns of straight tongue trailer couplers so you can absolutely do this safely.

This is a really good choice for a coupler as it has a latch that engages automatically and it's made from steel with a zinc finish for not only strength but durability as well. I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well if you'd like of the Buyers Products Straight Tongue Trailer Coupler # 3370091560.
