Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System for 10K Travel Trailer

Question:

I am looking at purchasing a new trailer with a 10k gvwr and a 1080lb TW dry. Adding 2 batteries and 2 propane tanks to the front, and a full load of water 75g looks to be about 8,903 lbs estimate. I’d like to get a WD hitch w/sway and was looking at the Reese Strait-Line WD w/sway trunnion bar - 17k GTW - 1,700 lbs TW. I know a 1500 lb TW is 15 of the gvwr but i dont really want to cut it close. Would this Reese product result in issues such as not enough TW for proper performance? I could not find a similar Reese product in the 1500 or 1600 tw option. Thanks

The Reese # RP66075 Strait-Line wieight distribution system is designed for trailers with a fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight between 1000-1700 lbs. Given the likely tongue weight of your trailer, this system would be ideal.

The system is designed for use with a 2-1/2 inch receiver, so the separately available shank should be compatible with a 2-1/2 inch receiver. I've linked to our selection of 2-1/2 inch receiver compatible shanks.

I've linked to a product description video for the Strait-Line weight distribution system.
