Question:

Hi, I purchased the below shock absorbers last week to equip on my fifth wheel trailer, and received it yesterday. - Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Axle Item # RM-2460 My fifth wheel trailer has Dexter 8,000-lb axle, So do you think this will be OK to my trailer? Im worrying about the capacity for it. Please let me know whether I should order for 8,000-lb axle one. Your reply for this would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Expert Reply:

The Dexter 8,000-lb axles are typically 3-1/2" in diameter, whereas the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers, part # RM-2460, only fit on 3" diameter axles (which is standard for 5200 - 7000-lb axles). So, unfortunately, you will need swap these.

We have the 8000-lb version of these shock absorbers here. They are part # RM-2470. I've linked to a video review of these for you to look at.
