Finding the Correct Brake Switch Wire to Install a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2009 Nissan Murano
Question:
There are 2 brake switches on this vehicle each with 2 wires coming out of them which one would I tie into for this application?

To find the correct brake switch wire use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 if needed to test each of the wires you see. You will need the one that shows power only when you apply the brake pedal. If it shows power with the headlights or turn signals on then it is not the correct wire. Take a look at the video I have linked and move forward to about the 9:22 mark. It shows our installer testing for the correct wire.
