Best Parts To Convert 2017 Airstream 27 to Disc Brakes with 3,500 lb Axles
Question:
I am purchasing a new 27 Airstream and am planning on converting it to Disk brakes. What is the best of the best systems you sell? rotors? Acutuators? Caliper, stainless? Do you have experience with other Airstreams? How do I know what size to get, I was reading some people can use up to a 10? Can you recommend an installer? Do you install?

Expert Reply:
Your 2017 Airstream 27 has 3,500 lb axles so the best components to convert to disc brakes would start with the Kodiak pat # K2HR35DS which comes with stainless and dacromet coated components that will prevent corrosion. This is the correct size and fitting components as well.
Then the best kit for the rest of the components needed is the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Kit part # HBA16-252-82 which comes with the most reliable and best performing actuator and all of the other components needed like brake lines and breakaway kit.
We do have ability to do installs here but if you are not local to us you can find a local trailer shop to you who would be able to point you towards someone who could.
