Determining The Length Of Bolster Brackets For Boat Trailer Carrying Twin Trawler 10

Question:

I have a 10 Twin Trawler boat with the two trolling motors recessed in the hull. I saw a picture on their website that shows that the bunk boards are positioned in the middle of the boat which is 5 up from the bottom of the two pontoon shaped trolling motors. The 8 bolster brackets on the trailer i just bought does not give me enough clearance. What length bolster brackets do I need?

I was able to find the trailer you mentioned on the website for your Twin Trawler 10 and I see what you mean about the bunk boards being centered in-between the hulls.

Since your boat measures 5" from the bottom of the trolling motors to the recessed part of the boat where the bunk boards will rest and your 8" bolster brackets are too short I recommend taking a simple measurement to make sure you get the correct length brackets without guessing on length. What you will need to do is with the boat installed on the trailer measure from the frame of the trailer to the bottom of the boat where the bunk boards will make contact. This will give you the exact length you need for a bolster bracket, and if you can provide me with that measurement i would be more than happy to recommend the best bolster bracket for you.

It also looks like they used a swivel like the CE Smith Swivel Bracket for Boat Trailers # CE10200G to angle the bunk boards in to each other a little bit.
