Weight distribution systems and Equal-i-zer hitches are actually the "same thing". Equal-i-zer is a brand like Kleenex that became the generalized name of the system while actually just being a brand of a weight distribution.
For a 5,400 lb trailer the weight distribution system I recommend the Strait-Line part # RP66083 which has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs and features the best sway control on the market at preventing sway before it starts.
