Recommended Compressor for Firestone 7500 Air Springs with 150 PSI Rating

Question:

I just ordered the Firestone Red Label #7500 air bags for my 2020 Ford F-350. I was planning to use my Air Lift Compressor system which which I removed from my old 2000 F250 truck with Firestone #5000 air bags. Now I am wondering if the Air Lift compressor which has a 100psi limit will be enough for the 7500 which have a 150psi rating. Will I need to run the 7500 bags at a higher pressure to achieve a similar lift from what I get when I run 40 psi in the 5000 with the same load? Unfortunately my trailer is 600 miles away so I cannot test it until I pick it up.

Your air compressor will work well in most cases, but you won't get the full function and support of your air springs. If you want to get that, you will need to upgrade to a compressor rated for that 150 psi. Since you were running 40 psi prior, you likely wouldn't require the psi to reach over 100 for the similar function but an updated compressor gives you the option to fully utilize the air springs.

I recommend the Firestone Air Command II - Analog - Heavy Duty Compressor & Air Tank - Dual Function - 150 psi # F2168 which is designed for individual adjustment of your air springs to allow leveling an off center load. This also give you the ability to adjust your tire air pressure and the tank allows adjustment much faster.
