Can 4.80/4.00-8 Trailer Tires Be Upgraded to 4.80-12 Tires

Question:

Ive got a trailer w/480-8 tires.The fender is about 21 1/4 deep from front edge to back edge.Will a 12 wheel/tire work or do I not have enough clearance w/suspension in the scenario? In other words 8 is to small for my liking.But I want a bigger tire.

In order to upgrade from 4.80/4.00-8 tires to 4.80-12 tires you'll need an additional 4" of clearance from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender. That said, you also need to allow about 3" for suspension travel. If you have this much space I recommend using the Kenda 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel part # AM30580.
