Recommended Solution to Get Both Padlock and Hitch Lock Keyed Alike to Use Single Key

Question:

I have a number of e-trailer locking pins in my shopping cart. Ive chosen the keyed alike option for all of them , so I can have just one key for all my trailer needs. If I buy this lock and choose the keyed alike option, will it take the same key as the e-trailer locking pins ?

I may have a solution for you to have all of your locks keyed alike, but you won't be able to do this using a Master Lock Padlock like the # ML312KA and the Threaded Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin Lock for etrailer Cargo Carriers - Keyed Alike # e99047. I'll also add that these types of locks are going to use two different types of locks, so having them keyed alike does present a unique challenge; however, BOLT makes locks that can be keyed specifically to the ignition key of your vehicle and would allow you to use 1 key across all of your locks.

For the padlock you would want to use something like the BOLT Covered Padlock - 2" Shackle - Codes to Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Key #BL7018520 and for the hitch locks, something like the BOLT Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - 2" and 2-1/2" Hitch - Codes to Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Key # BL7018448. Both of these locks mentioned here are designed for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep keys, but there are options available for most major automobile manufacturers.

I've linked the available options for both padlocks and hitch locks to this answer so you can easily find the available choices for both products, but if you let me know what your main tow vehicle is I can also help you locate the correct locks. This would be the only available way to key both types of locks together to the same key.
