Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Installed on 2013 Ram Feeding Back Into Vehicle

Question:

2013 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4...Truck had factory tow package, I used 3021-p harness to install P2. with no key in ignition, when I slide the manual switch on controller my dash lights up gauges move and the LED light on the 4x4 Neutral button lights up. is there an extra ground or something I need to run?

I have spoken with my contact at Tekonsha, and he tells me that is sounds as if your wiring adapter is not pinned out correctly.

Some of the Ford Super Duty trucks and Ram models use the same plug, but the wires are pinned out differently. Take a look at the photo I have provided, to ensure that your plug is wired correctly.

If you find that the connector is pinned improperly, you can either use a small screwdriver to release the clips holding the wires into place and re pin the connector to the proper configuration, or call our Customer Service folks to arrange for an exchange or return.

If the connector is NOT pinned out incorrectly, please reply and we will look at some other alternatives.
