Tow Bar Wiring Options for a Suzuki Grand Vitara
Question:
Hi I need to wire up my Suzuki Grand Vitara so that the lights work properly from the Motorhome to the Car The brake system pushs on the brake petal so the car brake lights will come on as well as the Motorhome brake lights, so I assume that the car brake lights will over power the signal lights of the motorhome. This will leave me with no signal lights if I am using the brakes My Question is, will using the Tow Ready Accessories and Parts - 118158 work in my case to correct this. I dont want to have to pull the brake light fuse from the car each time I tow it. The Patriot brake system is in transit from etrailer and Im trying to have the car wired by the time it gets here Thanks Bert

The absolute easiest solution for you would be to use a set of magnetic towing lights like our part number # RM-2120. This would simply plug into the trailer connector on your tow vehicle and would stick to the trunk lid of your towed vehicle and would provide all the tail light functions.
It sounds like you may need a Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400. This product keeps your towed vehicles brake signal from overriding the turn signal sent by your motorhome.
The tail light converter is designed for converting a tail light harness signal from combined to separate signals, which I do not think you will need unless I misunderstood your question.
I checked with Roadmaster and the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 and the RoadMaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs # RM-155 are confirmed to fit Grand Vitaras from 2001-2011.
I attached a few wiring FAQ articles that you should find informative also.
