Can Wheel and Jack on Trailer Valet be Easily Removed To Tow a Trailer and Reduce Tongue Weight

Can the Trailer Valet mechanism be easily removed from the tongue bracket and stored to reduce tongue weight when towing?

We have a Trailer Valet set up on a trailer outside so I went out to test it. You can remove the jack and valet part from the mounting bracket that attaches to the trailer. I had to jack it up using the Trailer Valet, slip under a jack stand, and lower the trailer on the jack stand. Then I just raised the jack a little, pulled the pin, and the whole unit can slide off.

In order to completely remove the Trailer Valet, # STC-V211, you would have to loosen and remove the 4 bolts that are used to clamp it around the trailer frame. The unit weighs around 40 pounds so it could become cumbersome to remove and reinstall time after time if you wanted the bracket off of the frame as well.
