How to Keep Trailer Wheel from Spinning When Torqueing Lug Nuts
Question:
You suggest 70+ pounds of torque for lug bolts on an 8 wheel. My question is how do you tighten or loosen the lug bolts with that much torque without spinning the wheel? What do you suggest using to hold the wheel to keep it from spinning?

Usually what you can do is hand tighten the lugs with the wheel and axle in the air and then once that's accomplished you can lower the axle so that the tire touches the ground and then torque to spec. The weight of the trailer on the tires will keep the tire from moving.
