Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 2011 Kia Sorento

Question:

I’m looking for help in choosing a brake controller. I have a 2011 Kia Sorento awd with 3.5l v6 and it has a 4 prong trailer plug. I am going to be towing a Tab trailer that has a 7 prong plug and electric brakes. The trailer has a gvwr of 1939 lbs. Thank you.

Since you have a 4-way already on your 2011 Kia Sorento you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Brake EVN # TK63VR. This is one our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
