Thule Trunk Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2012 BMW 5 Series

Will this rack work on a 2012 BMW 528i without causing damage to the car? Is there any other bike rack that would be a better choice?

I checked with Thule and the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Carrier # TH45JV will work on your 2012 BMW 528i. As long as you do not exceed the weight capacity of the rack or over tighten the rack you should not have any trunk lid damage.

This rack is one of the best on the market and would be my first choice for a trunk mounted bike rack because of how easy it is to use, how lightweight it is and the fact that it uses rubber coated steel cables instead of straps that could be easily cut like other trunk mounted bike racks.

If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without a horizontal top tube you may also be interested in purchasing a Thule Frame Adapter Bar # TH982XT to provide a horizontal attachment point for the rack. I attached a review video for this product also.
