Do I Need to Add a Circuit Breaker for Brake Controller When Using a Plug-In Adapter
Question:
When using the #90885c Prodigy P2 and the #3024-P wiring adapter harness, is it necessary to use a 20 amp circuit breaker? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
Vehicles that can utilize a plug-in adapter will already have fuse protected circuits, so you do not need to install an additional 20 Amp circuit breaker. On occasion, manufacturers have been known to leave out the fuses or the brake controller port, mainly GM, so if you plug in your brake controller and it doesn't turn on, be sure to check all of the trailer/brake controller related fuse locations in your fuse box to make sure a fuse is actually present.
