Replacement for 5-Way Trailer Connector with 9 Wires
Question:
I have a 2013 Ranger boat trailer that needs the connector replaced. It has 9 wires and I’m not sure what to buy and how to wire. There are 2 red, 2 green, 2 yellow, and 3 white wires. Thanks

For a replacement 5-way trailer connector, I recommend the Hopkins Wiring Harness with 5-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # HM37918. In regards to installation, you really need to test the wires for function to determine their purpose but if I had to guess I would say the red is for the reverse lockout or running lights, green for right stop/turn, yellow for left stop/turn, and white for ground. The extra wires will just be combined into once but you should verify each of the functions prior.
