Recommended 2 or 4 Bike Carrier for 2" Receiver on 2021 Grand Design Solitude

Question:

We are looking to purchase a bike carrier 2 person or 4 for our roll low side step specialized bikes that can be placed in our 2 inch receiver of our fifth wheel. We were told from a local bike shop that we need to purchase a bike carrier that is rated for a fifth wheel. What would you recommend we purchase? Our fifth wheel is a 2021 Solitude by Grand Design.

They are correct, since having a bike rack on the back of a 5th wheel trailer subjects it to much more up/down and side to side movement than occurs on the back of a regular vehicle mounted hitch receiver. Because of this, I recommend using the Swagman XP - 4 Bike Rack for 2" Trailer Hitches # S64940, which is rated for use on 5th wheel trailers and will fit in the 2" receiver on your 2021 Grand Design Solitude. I really like that this rack comes with locks to secure your bikes, so you don't need to worry about someone walking off with your bikes at the campsite; I do recommend adding the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman 2" Hitch Racks # S64027 so that you can also secure the rack to your trailer.

Because of the step through frames on the bikes, you will need to use a bike frame adapter bar like the Swagman # 64005, so that you can carry the bikes in the rack properly.
