They they said I need a harness, 2000 did not have one!! Someone please help me!!! I hooked up my trailer again and now I barely touch the brake and the trailer is locking the brakes to a point of dragging the trailer.. I’m tired scared and just about broke!! Based on how your trailer brakes are performing right now it sounds like someone wired your trailer stoplight circuit to the brake output circuit of the vehicle so now any time you touch the brakes they lock up. Some Mercedes vehicles are pretty difficult to install a brake controller in but we have a very easy solution with the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which basically just plugs into an active 7-way and once synced to a smart phone is ready to tow. You will need to clean up the wiring now based on what you mentioned and I described early but once that's taken care of the Echo would be your easiest solution.
