Is Spacer Needed When Installing Timbren Silent Ride on Trailer

Question:

I own a welding fab shop and am in the process of building myself a custom 21’ stock trailer and I think the 14000 lb timbren silent ride is what I want to put on this trailer. My question is after reading the reviews one gentlemen put that system on his RV and said he had to put a 4” tube sub frame under his existing frame to get the back to approximately where it was originally. so generally on a stock trailer I would install a 4 “ axle. With the timbren 14000 lb Silent ride I am wondering if I could use a straight axle instead and still have the same finished height as I would by using the slipper spring suspension with the 4” Axle

The review you mentioned does have a customer of our having to install a 4 inch sub frame spacer to install the Timbren # TSR14K35T01 like you mentioned to accomplish the same ride height as their previous straight axle setup. But worth nothing is that their straight axle setup uses a very tall leaf spring pack mounted on top of the axle, the hangers seem to be a taller height and they had EZ Flex equalizers that look somewhat taller as well so I wouldn't say across the board every time you install this kit the spacers are needed to retain same height.
