Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 2010 Ford Explorer that has 4-Way
Question:
I have a 2010 Ford Explorer. I recently just installed a new hitch receiver I ordered from you guys in hopes of getting a camper soon. I have recently found out that my 4 pin will not work for the camper since it has brakes. I am completely new to this. What all do I need to convert my 4 pin to the 7 pin needed for a camper with brake control? I can do the install no problem, I know my way around a vehicle pretty well, but all this towing stuff is new to me. Thank you.

To convert your 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install a brake controller in your 2010 Ford Explorer only requires the # ETBC7 that you referenced. Basically you plug your 4-way into this kit and then run the other wires accordingly and you'd be set. We actually had the chance to install this on a similar 2010 Ford Explorer as yours which I attached a link to on this page.
For a brake controller the Brake EVN # TK63VR is a really great option that works well and is priced great too.
