Tire Chains for a 2003 GMC Envoy with P245/65R17 Tires
Question:
I have a 2003 gmc envoy XL with P245-65R-17 tire size. What tire chains will work as I am not sure about clearance. The owners manual said there is a clearance issue. Do you know anybody with an Envoy that bought PWH3227SC chains and did not have a problem with the cains working on an ENvoy. Please let me know. Thanks.

If the owners manual mentions a clearance issue then the best bet is to go with Class S chains which require the least amount of clearance around the tires.
If you will not be needed the chains very often or do not live in an area where chains are required by law then I recommend a set of cable style chains, # PW3010C, with tensioner # PW99. I have included a link to a video review of these chains for you.
For more frequent use or for areas where chains are required by law I recommend a set like # TC2317. These will be good for more frequent use. These chains also automatically line up and tighten as you drive making installation fast and easy.
