Will the B&W Companion Slider for a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 Fit Under a Tonneau Cover

Question:

I have a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab with the Regular/Short Bed with the factory pucks. I also have the ChevyTec Spray-On Bed Liner. I am interested in this BandW Companion BWRVK3775 hitch but I am also looking for a hard folding Tonneau Cover. I am concerned about the 17-19 inch height of the hitch with the Tonneau Cover installed when not towing as the bed liner and Tonneau Cover will have used up some of the bed height already. What does the the variation in height mean in the hitch specs 17-19 in? Also, what is the weight of this hitch? It sounds like it takes two people to move it. Thanks for your help.

In regards to the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3775, the hitch head height is listed as 17" - 19" which is measured from the bed floor to the top of the skid plate. I don't think this will cause many issues with a tonneau covers even with the factory spray-in bed liner. I commonly see these being stored under retractable tonneau covers without issue, I recommend the Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover part # PE63CV. The truck already sits high so you'd likely have the hitch at the lowest setting anyway.

In regards to weight, the head which is easily removable weighs about 70 lbs and the base about 180 lbs for a total of 250 lbs. The base is indeed a two person job but most sliding bases will be.
