Should Trailer Ground On Coupler Side of Hinge Kit or Trailer Side
Question:
Should grounding strap on boat trailer be behind the folding tounge? Fuse keeps popping on running lights only.

Normally a fuse that wants to blow isn't related to an insufficient ground but I would recommend having the ground strap connect on the side of the hinge that's opposite the coupler. You probably have a short between the running circuit and the frame somewhere due to exposed wire so that would be what I would check and fix as needed.
