If you have a 2007 Saturn Vue, depending on which brake controller you're trying to install, you will need an adapter to be hardwired into your vehicle. This is because the Vue does not have a factory plug for a brake controller to plug into.
For example, Curt controllers need adapter # C51515 for your vehicle. Tekonsha and Draw-Tite Controllers need adapter # 20127.
If you let me know which brake controller you're trying to install, I can help you further.
Also, keep in mind that in order to use a brake controller, you will need a tow package to operate it. If you don't have one, I recommend the etrailer Universal Wiring Kit, part # ETBC7. I've linked to video review of this kit for you to look at.
