Compatibility of Roadmaster Bulb and Socket Flat Towing Lighting Kit with 2011 GMC Acadia

According to my contact at Roadmaster, a bulb and socket-type lighting solution is not appropriate for the 2011 Acadia. I believe the Acadia uses LEDs in the taillight assemblies. The LEDs are mounted on a circuit board, and it is the circuit board that would prevent installing the extra bulb.

For the ultimate ease of installation, a magnetic mount kit like part # RM-2120 would also work for you, although it might not be the best way to go for those who flat tow their vehicles frequently.

I also wanted to add that if you were planning on using a supplemental braking system that applies the brake pedal in the towed vehicle, along with the Trailer Mate harness I recommended, you will also need to use a Brake Lite Relay, part # RM-88400. The relay is needed to prevent the Acadia's brake lights (activated when the supplemental braking system applies the brakes) from overriding the turn signal that comes from the RV.
