Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2005 Chrysler Sebring Hardtop Sedan with a Blue Ox Tow Bar

we picked up a blue-ox tow bar that attaches to the back of our motorhome, sleeve type not a ball hitch. Could you please tell us what baseplate we need to buy from you to attach to the car, thanks! flat tow 2005 chrysler sebing hard top

Since Blue Ox does not make a base plate kit for the 2005 Chrysler Sebring sedan hardtop, the only kit you can use is Roadmaster XL base plates # 270-1. In order to use the Blue Ox tow bar you will need to use an adapter, # BX88178. This adapter will result in a 24 inch spacing between the brackets. You will need to determine if your tow bar can be used at this 24 inch spacing.

You will also need safety cables like # RM-643. For lighting I recommend a simple magnetic kit like # RM-2120 would be the way to go. I have linked some tow bar wiring FAQs for you.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot, # BLU37TR. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
