Replacing the 2019 Toyota Tundras Factory Brake Controller with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3
Question:
I want to get the P3 brake controller, is there and adapter for the 2019 tundra? Or a way to install and what do I have to keep in mind because the stock break controller is integrated with the trucks computer

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3, part # 90195, is an excellent choice to upgrade the brake controller on your 2019 Toyota Tundra. Many factory brake controllers do not give the versatility and level of control that comes with the P3, which is why so many end up replacing theirs with the P3. I've linked to a video review of this controller so you can see what I mean.
As of yet, there is no plug-in adapter for the P3 on a 2019 Tundra, but there is still a way to get it hooked up. You can splice into the wires going to that factory harness plug. You will need to cut the plug to do this. If the truck wires aren't labeled, you can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to verify their functions before making the connections to the pigtail from the P3. On the P3 controller, the red wire is for the brake signal input (the wire on the truck that ONLY gets power with the brake pedal depressed), the blue wire is for brake output to the 7-Way, the black wire is for 12V power, and the white wire is for ground.
You should talk with a local Toyota dealership before doing this since something like a flash or a reboot may need to be done with the computer after unplugging the factory controller.
