Brake Controller Wiring Adapter for a 1999 Chevy Suburban
Question:
I have a 99 GMC Suburban looks different than this plug. It is a more flat plug. The accessory panel looks different also than a 2000. It came pre-wired from the factory for towing, and I connected the 7-prong in the rear all wires were present, but the dash system is different than later models. What can I do to connect the electric brake module?

I am sorry, but the Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter 1999-02 Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, item # 3025-S, is only for the 2000-2002 Chevy Suburban with a New Body Style. It does not fit the 1999 Suburban. I just checked for you, and we do not have a custom brake controller adapter for the 1999 Suburban, which leads me to believe there is not a port available for the brake controller under your dash.
Some models do have the brake (blue) and hot lead (orange or red) wires already ran from under the hood to the end of the driver side frame rail. However, these wires are hard to access and additional wire will still be needed. Part # ETBC7 is recommended, which includes all of the wiring and hardware needed to hard wire a brake controller on your 1999 GMC Suburban.
