Does Peterson Clearance Light # 427400 Ground Through Hardware When Mounted to Fiberglass

Question:

I am replacing my clearance lights on 1997 Rialta. I am using the lights you recommend Peterson thin line oval #427400. I see that there is no ground wire and the ground is established by screwing in the light itself. installation hardware is referenced but I am not using anything but screws as far as I know. I am concerned that the screw will just be going into fiberglass. Would you recommend connecting the white or ground wire coming out of my roof to the screw that is meant to ground the light. Otherwise what would you suggest I do with the white ground wire? My lights are supposed to arrive Sunday 10/18 so your answer would be greatly appreciated by then. Thanks

The trailer light part # 427400 does ground through the mounting hardware so if you mount it to fiberglass you'd need to run a ground wire from the light to a metal portion of the frame.
