For your 2008 Ram 3500, the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR you asked from is a great option. It communicates with the 7-way connector from the blue output wire of the # RED69FR pigtail.
If you have a factory 7-way, then you will simply wire color for color to the # 3020-S under the dash. If you have the factory 4-way, then you will connect this same way under the dash but the brake controller output (blue) wire does not run all the way back to the 4-pole at the rear; it stops at the connector that is located under the driver's side wheel well. In order to finalize the installation you must splice into this wire and continue it back to the plug and use the # ETBC7L kit to complete the installation.
If you have no factory wiring, then you will use the # RED69FR pigtail and then use the # ETBC7 kit to complete your wiring. If you don't have a 4-way trailer connector then you will also need the Tekonsha 4-way harness # 119178KIT as well.
